Emma Sims

Graveside service for Emma Modene Sims, age 92, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Peerless Cemetery with Phil Gold officiating and Roger Burks, Jeremy Sims, Preston Sims, Pat McAdoo, Lucas, McAdoo and Jason Cobb serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 P.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Sims passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Sulphur Springs Health ad Rehab.

Modene was born on March 16, 1926 in Hopkins County, TX to Hubert and Opal Burks. She married Roy Sims on October 21, 1944 in Peerless. Modene was a homemaker and co-owner of Sims Garage.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Sims and wife, Nancy of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Cindy McAdoo and husband, Pat, Kristi Hubbell and husband, David, Jason Cobb and wife, Melinda, Holli Cobb and husband, Jay, Jeremy Sims and wife, Myra, Jamie Gold and husband, Phil; great grandchildren, Lucas and Brittany McAdoo, Molly McAdoo, Kaci and Lance Bass, Jacob and Courtney Hubbell, TJ Hubbell, Bailee Hubbell, Christa Woods, Myka Bryant, Cameron Brown, Quest Roundtree, Preston Sims, Brumley Gold; five great great grandchildren.

Modene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Nelda Cobb; brothers, Thomas Burks, Wiley Burks, Travis Burks.
