Emily Wroten

Emily Wroten, age 78, of Fort Worth, TX passed away at Colonial Lodge Tender Care in Greenville, TX on Thursday, April 11, 2024. A family-led Memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, TX at a later date. 

Emily Stallard Wroten was born on July 30, 1945, in Fort Worth, TX to Dalton Hale (Doc) and Geraldine Maxwell (Jerry) Stallard. Emily was a devoted school teacher and loved her work. She retired from Aledo ISD after 26 years in education. She continued to substitute teach until August, 2022. 

Emily was a wonderful Mother to her two daughters, Jennifer and Molly. She stayed home to raise them…always putting their needs and desires ahead of her own. She was a loving and proud Grandmother to her seven grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, doing puzzles, and taking them on train rides at the Fort Worth Zoo. 

After getting sick, the last 20 months of her life were challenging but she found joy in the new friendships she made in East Texas while living close to her oldest daughter. 

Emily is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Clarke and grandchildren Matthew, Kylie, Baylor, and Griffin; and daughter, Molly Humber (husband Scott) and grandchildren Caroline, Madelyn, and Austin. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Doc Stallard; sister, Susan Phillips; and brother, David Stallard. 

Emily touched the lives of many people over the years and will be missed by all who knew her.
