Eloise Allen

Funeral services for Eloise Allen, age 84, of Brashear, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2008, with Shane Carrington and Malcolm King officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Marlin Jones, Tim Taylor, Don Petty, Bobby Beck, Stanley Foster, Wayne Allison, Robert Carpenter and Durwood Smith will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Aubrey Washington, Tom McClemore and Dr. Robert Parker. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Eloise Allen passed away Tuesday morning, September 30, 2008 at Sunny Springs Health & Rehab. She was born in Livingston, Louisiana, on March 8, 1924, the daughter of Ira Dallie and Lillie Eugnia Holland Hill. She married J. P. Allen in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on August 31, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Allen was a retired sales associate from Bealls Department Store. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ.
Survivors include: daughter, Cheryl Joy Burt of Brashear; son, Jacky Allen of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Ira "Bo" Hill and Pat Hill; brother-in-law, Dalton Carpenter; two sisters, Joyce Crotwell and Lucy Carpenter; sister-in-law, Robbi Hill, all of Denham Springs, Louisiana; grandchildren, Chris Ashley Burt, Liz Walker, Katie Sickorez, John Partain and Michael Partain and great-grandchildren, Dillon Walker, Allison Walker, Sara Sickorez, Kassadie Burt, Brenson Booth, Landen Booth, Patrick Radney, Jacob Radney and Chris Radney and Julia Partain. She was preceded in death by brother, Sidney Hill and sister, Barbara Carpenter.
