A funeral service for Elizabeth Courson, age 82, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Bruce Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery, with Kevin Duerkson, Ernest Young, Bobby Bain, Calvin Bain, Keith Bain and Dale Sprague serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2013.
Elizabeth Courson passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 11, 2013 at Carriage House Manor. She was born in Pine Forest on October 30, 1930, the daughter of Cal Bain and Bobbie (Perkins) Bain. She married Floyd "Cap" Courson in Pine Forest on December 6, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1991. She was a secretary at Northeast Texas Express and a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, James Courson and wife Linda of Sulphur Springs and Leonard Courson and wife Kathy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Michelle Tipps and husband Kevin, Amy Baskin, Stephanie Courson and Gretchen Muller and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Darla Nell Courson; two brothers, Noble Bain and Darrell Bain and her parents.
