A funeral service for Edward Hankins, age 62, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Alvin Barber officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Edward Hankins passed away at his residence Tuesday, June 30, 2013. He was born in Hopkins County, October 3, 1950, the son of O. E. and Florence Hankins. He was a truck driver for over 40 years and he was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war and he was a member of V.F.W. Post 8560.
Survivors include: daughter, Hannah Hankins Tatum & husband, Riley; sons, Billy Hankins & Patrick Matthews all of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Ovaline Barber & husband, Alvin of Winnsboro and Lovanda Hoffman and husband, Billy Bob of Pickton; brothers, Butch Hankins of Cypress Springs, Bobby Hankins and wife, Teena of Saltillo and Gerald Wayne Hankins and wife, Laquita of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Trevor, Ashley, Lainey and Hayleigh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Hankins and niece, Patty Hoffman.
