Funeral services for Edna Smith, age 61, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2009, with Rev. Annie Wagoner officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Edna Smith passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 25, 2009, at Paris Regional Medical Center. She was born in Sulphur Springs, on April 4, 1947, the daughter of Ruby Earl Smith and Edna Gertrude (Moss) Smith. Mrs. Smith was a retired teacher, having worked for Sulphur Springs Independent School District, where she was known as "Mrs. J." She was a member of the Baptist faith and the Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include: two sons, Jimmy Joslin and Murray Lee Joslin; brother, Murray Smith, all of Sulphur Springs; sister, Betty Payne of Mesquite, best friend, Gail Joslin and grandchildren, Floyd Taylor, Justin Joslin, Heather Haygood, April Haygood, Lance Haygood, Hunter Joslin and Brittney Camp. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gerald Joslin.
