Edna Brown

Funeral services for Edna Brown, 93, of Yantis, will be held at First Baptist Church in Yantis, at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008, with Rev. Shannon Hassell officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Edna Brown passed away at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, Wednesday morning, June 4, 2008. She was born in the Union Community, on April 2, 1915, the daughter of James and Martha Elizabeth Smith Helton. She married Leonard Brown in the Union Community, on September 3, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1989. Mrs. Brown was a retired seamstress and a member of First Baptist Church in Yantis.
Survivors include: two sons, Joe Brown of Plano and Jerry Len Brown of Quitman; three granddaughters, Darla Jill, Lauren Louise DiMarco and Joanna Lee Brown; six grandsons, Gary Dale Ritchie, Alton Ray Ritchie, Charles Eric Ritchie, Thomas Graham Brown, Chad Joseph Brown and Nathan Coleman Brown and a number of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter, Martha Lou Stockton; three sisters, Mary Jo Helton, Viola Brown and Ruth Helton and two brothers, J. B. Helton and Ross Helton.
