Funeral services for Dorothy Wilcox Edge, age 84, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2008, at Lake Highlands Baptist Church, with Dr. Raymond Edge, Grady Cashion and Dr. Mike Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery, with Rodney Coke, Peyton Coke, Ryan Salisbury, Jonathan Edge, Jim Holloway and Byron Cashion serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Dorothy Edge passed away Monday afternoon, September 8, 2008, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Mt. Vernon, on Ausust 26, 1924, the daughter of Fred E. and Jewel French King. She married Eulysses Wilcox, Jr. He preceded her in death in 1964. She then married Rev. James Edge on September 30, 1966; he survives. Mrs. Edge was a homemaker and retired from GTE and H. D. Lee. She was a member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Cathy Cashion and husband, Grady, of Sulphur Springs; Esther Salisbury of Laurel, Mississippi; two sons, Mark Edge of Boston Massachusetts and Dr. Raymond Edge and wife, Sue, of Bastrop; grandchildren, Meredith Coke and husband, Rodney, Byron Cashion, Courtney Cashion, Ryan Salisbury, Jami Holloway and husband, Jim, Jonathan Edge and wife, Katie, Clara Danielson and husband, Kyle, and Tonya Edge; great-grandchildren, Chelsey Coke, Peyton Coke, Seth Danielson, Koryn Danielson and Lucy Holloway. She was preceded in death by two infant sisters. Memorials may be made to the Harmony Cemetery Association.
