Dorothy Blocker

Dorothy Blocker, age 94, of Cumby, passed away Thursday morning, April 12, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. There will be no formal service. She was born in Mt. Vernon, on August 5, 1917, the daughter of Melvin Henderson and Margaret (Combs) Henderson. She married Joel R. (Jack) Blocker, Jr., on May 5, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of Emory Church of Christ.
Survivors include: daughter, Judy Melton and husband, Lane, of Cumby; son, Joel R. Blocker, III and wife, Elisa, of Dugger, Indiana; four grandsons, Lane Melton, Jr., Robert Melton, Mitchell Melton and Christopher Blocker; three great-grandchildren and sister, Bonnie Jensen of Bryan. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
