Doris Rogers

December 21, 1923 — March 31, 2012

A celebration of the life of Doris Elizabeth Rogers, 88, of Sulphur Springs, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4 at the United Methodist Church in Mound City, Kansas. Interment will follow at the Mound City Cemetery. Pastor Dallas Peterson will conduct the services.
Ms. Rogers died on March 31, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born December 21, 1923 on a farm near Sheldon, Mo. Her parents were Charlie Milton and Nellie Sylvia Dasher Masoner.
She married William Henry Schasteen on June 30, 1943 in Linn County, Kansas. He preceded her in death. In 1971, she married Lloyd Thomas Rogers in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death in 2001.
She had a zest for life and enjoyed being with family, dancing, country-western music, family reunions and excelled at yodeling, which she did on occasion for family members. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs and a lifetime member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Patty Schasteen Osborn and husband, Charles, Sulphur Springs, Texas; son, David Schasteen and wife, Supicha, , Gardner, Mt; stepdaughter, Michelle Rogers Kimler and husband, Kenny, Paola, Kansas; grandchildren, Todd and Meredith Osborn, Taylor, Texas, Michael and Natalie Osborn, Round Rock, Texas, Chris Osborn, Taylor, Texas, Casey and Kelly Osborn, McKinney, Texas, Amber Green, Columbia, Mo., Jada Green and husband, David, Overland Park, KS, Curt Murdock and wife, Dee Dee, Paola, Kansas, Mike Kimler and wife, Dana, Spring Hill, KS and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Charlene and husband, Lowell Gene Marley and Naomi Lane. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and William Masoner and three sisters, Helen Ballah, Ella Beckman and Eula Johnson.
