Funeral services for Doris Aaron, age 70, of Cooper, formerly of Hopkins County, will be held at the Cowboy Country Church, at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008, with Rev. Byron Huck and Rev. Jimmy Prater officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, with Mrs. Aaron's sons and Garry Hammons serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Purcell, Leon Hanson and Authur Chancellor. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Doris Aaron passed away Friday morning, September 12, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Henderson County, on June 6, 1938, the daughter of William Robert and Finnie Pruitt Eves. She married Ernest Burt Aaron in Kaufman County, on September 19, 1953. He preceded her in death in 2008. Mrs. Aaron was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Survivors include: four daughters, Lois Purcell of Joshua, of Cooper, Darlene Hammons of Birthright, Teresa Hanson and Christine Morehead, both of Cooper; five sons, Larry Aaron, Ernest Aaron, both of Sulphur Springs, David Jeffery Aaron of Cooper, Neil Aaron of Longview and Bruce Aaron of Metairie, Louisiana; four sisters, Margie Vance, Vera Corder, Lois Struck, all of Dallas, and Geneva Trammel of Mabank; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter, Peggy Cole, two brothers and three grandchildren.
