Donnie Dunn Hill, 83, of Rowlett, formerly of Sulphur Springs, passed away at 4:21 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at Rockwall Nursing Center following a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Born April 29, 1928 in Plainview, Texas, she was the daughter of Katie Irene (Procter) Dunn and Samuel Lewis Dunn. She married Reginald Eugene Hill on Oct. 6, 1951.
Ms. Hill, along with her husband Reginald, were co-founders and owners of Hill's Custom Floors, Tops & Cabinets in Sulphur Springs for more than 30 years, prior to her retirement in 1996.
A devoted mother, sister, grandparent and friend, she will be missed by all.
Funeral services are to be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Jan. 18 in Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.Terry Bolton officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Clay Schulz, Jeff Gulley, Ronald Wills, Mac Herman, Pat Bryant, Eddie Ardis and Dale Cherry serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, January 17th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Regina K. Hill of Forney; two sons, Reggie Hill of Hockessin, DE and Sam Hill of Flower Mound; one sister, Lorene (Candy) Schulz of Linden; seven grandchildren, Kalie Templin, Taylor Minty, Ryan Hill, Zachary Hill, Torri Minty, Abby Hill, and Jordan Hill and one great-grandchild, Hadley Templin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Reginald E. Hill and one daughter, Terri Hill Minty. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Jack Dunn and Dan Procter, and one sister, Virginia Lindecamp.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may also be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Dallas, if preferred.
