Don McKenzie

A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, will be conducted for Don McKenzie, age 52, of Sulphur Springs, at 11:00 a.m., Monday July 29, 2013 at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery, with Larry Jordan officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home prior to the service.
Don McKenzie passed away Tuesday evening July 23, 2013 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Abilene October 26, 1960, the son of Boysce McKenzie and Allie (Gowen) McKenzie. He married Linda Dixon in Hopkins County in 1999; she survives. He was a truck driver and welder and a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. He served in the United States Marines and he was a member of N.R.A.
Other survivors include: his mother, Allie McKenzie; two daughters, Summer Smith and husband Jeff and Wendy Davis and husband Farron, all of Sulphur Springs; sister, Kathy Wilson of Frisco and grandchildren, Chelsey Smith, Austin Smith, Jordan Smith, CeCe Jeffery, Cadrian Davis and Caden Davis. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Loretta Merkle and brother, Dennis McKenzie.
