David Penson

Funeral Services for David Ray Penson, age 63 of Dike, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Murray-Orwosky Chapel with Rev. Paul Pouge officiating. Interment will follow at City Cemetery with Marty Fite, J. J. Price, David Stribling, Pat Potts, Jimmy Akins, James Petty, Jonah Massey and Bo Romans serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Hall, Chris Penson, G. R. Romans and Hall Oil Company Employees and Staff. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., prior to the service at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
David Ray Penson died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on November 16, 1950, the son of L. H. & Roberta Jones Penson in Sulphur Springs, TX. He married Sherrie Davis on August 2, 1980 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives.
Survivors included: mother, Roberta Newsome; sons, David Micheal Penson and wife, Anne-Michelle of Sulphur Springs and Daniel Ray Penson of Dike; brother, William Penson and wife, Jeanie; sister, Sarah Dunn and husband, Marshall all of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Gage Penson and Rafe Penson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Carl Newsome; brother, Gordon "Butch" Penson.
