David Oxford, Sr.

Funeral services for David Oxford, Sr., age 66 of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Beliew officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jimmy Oxford, Jason Oxford, Jake Morrill, Lucas Flournoy, Matthew Flournoy, Clint Bradford, Tanner Oxford and Logan Oxford serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Sulphur Springs Fire Department and Hopkins County Fire Department. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., March 8, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

David passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 16, 1949 in Sulphur Springs the son of Jack, Sr. and Nadine (Dodd) Oxford. He married Leisa Wright. He was retired from Sulphur Springs Fire Department and Oxford Body Shop.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Laura Flournoy of Lindale; son, David Oxford, Jr. of Sulphur Springs; brother, Jack Oxford, Jr. and wife, Nita of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Suzi Miller and husband, Robert of Jacksonville and Jean Gee of Katy; grandchildren, Lucas Flournoy; Matthew Flournoy and Logan Oxford.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rodney Oxford and one sister, Betty Carole Newsome.
