Funeral services for David Lawson, age 59, of Emory, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow services in the Rockdale Cemetery, with Cephus Gregory, Jack Oxford, Thomas Gregory, Don Petty, Ricky Petty, and Ted Wimberly serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Goldsmith, Don Aulsobrook, Charlie Edgar, and Ricky Morgan.
Visitation will be from 6:00 t0 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2008, at the funeral home.
Mr. Lawson passed away on Friday evening, April 11, 2008, at his residence. He was born in Sulphur Springs, on July 3, 1948, the son of Bobby Clark and Mildred Owens Lawson. He married Carolyn Gregory, in Sulphur Springs, on July 22, 1966. She survives.
Mr. Lawson was a truck driver with Yellow Freight and a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: his parents; a daughter, Karen Polk, of Winnsboro; a son, David Lawson of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Kyle Polk and Kody Polk, both of Winnsboro; Faustin Lawson of Sulphur Springs, Hayley Lawson and Dustin Lawson, both of Dike; Denton Lawson of Sulphur Springs; and Brent Rutledge and Tristin Rutledge, both of Sulphur Springs; and his mother-in-law, Betty Gregory, of Sulphur Springs.
