Dan Williams

A graveside service for Dan Williams, 92 of Sulphur Springs will be held Thursday 11;00 a.m., April 24, 2014 at Greenview Cemetery with Charles Moore officiating. Arrangements are with Murray Orwosky Funeral Home and no formal visitation will be held.

Dan Williams died on April 21, 2014. He was born to Victor Emanuel and Ellen Russell Williams of Hopkins County. He was married to Hartense (Hardy) Knight for 67 years. she survives him.

Dan served in the U.S. Army in World War II (Pacific Theater) and in the Korean War. He retired in 1961 with the rank of Major. He later retired from the Farmer's Co-op in Sulphur Springs.

Other survivors include his son Randy Williams and wife Cheri of Tyler, grandaughter Bree Willliams of Sulphur Springs, and sister Lillian Doris Ring and husband Eldon of sulphur Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
