C.R. McPherson

Funeral service for C.R. McPherson, Jr., age 86, of Shreveport, LA and formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Larry Blackmon officiating.  Interment will follow at Mahoney Cemetery.  There will be no formal visitation.  Mr. McPherson passed away on, Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at The Carpenter House, Shreveport, LA.

C.R. was born on November 21, 1933 in Linden, Texas to Cecil Ray and Opal Lee (Cates) McPherson.  He married Christene Lorene Blackmon on June 26, 1954 in Hopkins County.  C.R. was a Professor of Business and Administrator at LSU- Shreveport.

He is survived by his son, C.R. McPherson, Jr. II and wife, Linda Sue of Bossier City, LA; grandchildren, Robert “Bobby” Fitzgerald McPherson, Jennifer Ann Collins, Cathleen Rayann Warren; eight great-grandchildren.

C.R. was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Christopher Lee McPherson, sisters, Patsy Nelson and Martha Hopper.
