Clifford Davis

Clifford Davis was born on April 24, 1930. He left this life as he lived it, quietly and peacefully on November 14, 2016. Clifford is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years Lila Ruth, or as he called her Lolly. He is survived by 2 daughters and son-in-law's: Charlotte and Jim Allison in Tyler and Kim and Trent Miller in Royse City and 1 son and daughter-in-law: Randy and Marlene Davis in Yantis. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Wade Davis, Lance Davis, Candace Bearden, Jason Allison, Kate Miller, Chloe Miller; and 5 great-grandchildren: Katlin Davis, Emily Davis, Brady Davis, Cameron Davis, Parker Bearden, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Byron Davis, as well as 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

He was a member of Seymore Church of Christ.

Clifford was a man of few words. He raised his family with a firm hand with Christ at the center of the home. He was an example of a Christian man to his children, to love God with all their hearts and follow Him. He showed his family that with sheer determination and hard work that you can achieve anything regardless of his limitations. Clifford was a successful, lifelong dairyman who loved being out in the pasture tending to his work. Despite his illness in recent years, Clifford never gave up hoping for a miracle and fought to the end. He has received his reward in a perfectly heavenly home for being a faithful servant and is now cancer free clearly seeing the face of his Savior. His family, church, and anyone who knew him were richly blessed to have known Clifford Davis.

Funeral service for Clifford Davis, age 86, of Yantis, will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 1 pm, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Travis Aven officiating and Aaron Huddleston and Byron George assisting. Interment will follow at Yantis Cemetery with Byron George, Barry George, Jason Allison, Wade Davis, Lance Davis, and Shannon Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Rusty Wilkey, Joe Davis and Adam Teer. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
