Cleta Childress

A graveside service for Cleta Childress, age 81, of Brashear will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Brashear Cemetery, with Rev. David Burns officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Cleta Childress passed away at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, Monday evening, January 14, 2013. She was born in Saltillo July 25, 1931, the daughter of Jim Bennett and Lillian (Dillon) Bennett. She married H. J. Childress at Farmersville on June 16, 1949. He preceded her in death in 2001. She was a retired L.V.N. and a member of Brashear Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Brenda Hughes of Iowa and Jo Ann Potter and husband, Randy, of Brashear; two sons, Craig Childress of Brashear and Kris Childress and wife, Lisa, of Sulphur Springs; brother, Jesse Bennett and wife, Gayle, of Rockwall; grandchildren, Melissa Wyly, Bridgette Childress, Brad Hughes, Brian Potter, Kason and Kip Childress, Erica Turrigianni; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by sister, Janez Bennett; brother, R. B. Bennett and one infant grandchild. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
