Clarene Thurman

Funeral services for Clarene E. Thurman, age 90, of North East, Maryland, formerly of Dallas, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 16, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. B. J. Teer and Bob Manverse officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 16, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Clarene E. Thurman passed away Monday, October 12, 2009, at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center in Rising Sun, Maryland. She was born in Como, on February 21, 1919, the daughter of Thomas Judson Earhart and Lilly Bell (Foust) Earhart. She married Bill Thurman in Sulphur Springs, on April 10, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Thurman was a retired beautician. She was a member of Lovers' Lane Methodist Church in Dallas, a volunteer for C. C. Young Home Auxiliary and a member of Women's Society of Christian Service Guild of United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Shirley Duckenfield of North East, Maryland; sister, Fay Hawought of Dallas; granddaughter, Kara Jane Pollak and great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Skyler, Kamryn and Benjamin Pollak. She was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
