Graveside service for Cherry Richardson, age 88, of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 2:00P.M. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Gafford Chapel Cemetery with Tommy Hall, Ed Lantz and Dean Libby officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Mrs. Richardson passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab.
Cherry was born on July 22, 1930 in Hopkins County, TX to Curtis and Eva Browning. She married Charles Richardson on December 11, 1967 in Vernon, TX. Cherry worked in retail for many years with Howards Department Store and Shelton’s propane. She also worked as a news reporter with the Vernon Daily Record and the Sulphur Springs News Telegram. Cherry was a member of Davis Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Bill Browning and wife, Sally of Garland; sister-in-law, Janice Browning of Vernon; sons, Michael Hoybook and wife, Mary Ellen of Sulphur Springs, Edwin Richardson of Pilot Point, Chester Richardson of Sulphur Springs, Lionel Richardson of Spearfish, SD; grandchildren, Tony Barton and wife, Kim of Pearland, Brandie Cooper and husband, Joe of Mt. Vernon, Mallory Gilbert and husband, Cory of Prosper, Marshall Hoybook of Greenville, Jennifer Jones and husband, Donnie of Sulphur Springs, Edwin Richardson, Carolyn Richardson, Daniel Richardson, Virginia Richardson, Guy Richardson of Lewisville and Anna Richardson of Sulphur Springs; great and great-great grandchildren; several very special nieces and nephews.
Cherry was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Diane Barton; brother, Kenneth Browning.
