A Masonic graveside service for Charles Edwin Richardson, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Gafford Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Hall and Rev. Andy Comer officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be members of Masonic Lodge #221. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Hopkins County Military Coalition. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Charles Edwin Richardson passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 19, 2013 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born in Kirkland on June 6, 1928, the son of Floyd Richardson and Icey (McCullough) Richardson. He married Cherry Wanda Browning in Vernon on December 11, 1967; she survives. He was a retired dairyman, a member of Davis Street Baptist Church and a Mason for over 50 years. He was the former director of Northeast Texas Farmers Coop, former president of Sulphur Springs Golden K Kiwanis Club and he was a member of the Hopkins County Military Coalition.
Other survivors include: four sons, Charles Edwin Richardson, Jr. of Pilot Point, Chester Clay and wife Talisha of Sulphur Springs, Lionel Craig and wife Dixie of Spearfish, South Dakota and Michael Hoybook and wife Mary Ellen of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Christine Wiseman of New Iberia, Louisiana and Betty Beavers of McGregor; grandchildren, Charles Edwin Richardson, III, Jennifer Jones, Guy Richardson, Carolyn Richardson, Daniel Richardson, Virginia Richardson, Tony Barton, Brandie Cooper, Mallory Hoybook, Marshall Hoybook, Anna Marie Richardson, Nathan Wilson, Deanna Bowen, Kristen Bowen, Cameron Bowen and Chelsey Osborn, great-grandchildren, Dillon and Dalton Mitchell and great-great-grandchild, Brooklyn Mitchell. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane Barton.
