A graveside service for Carrie Wesson Wiler, age 86, of Mt. Pleasant, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Arbala Cemetery, with Rev. Brian Bosworth officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Carrie Wesson Wiler passed away Tuesday morning, October 20, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Arbala on December 17, 1922, the daughter of Robert Wesson and Emma (Lamb) Wesson. She married Lathan Wiler in Quitman, on December 24, 1941. He preceded her in death in 2008. Mrs. Wiler was a homemaker and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Deloros Foster (Sonny) of Mt. Pleasant and Carolyn Deats (James) of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Carla Gillette (David), Karen Campbell, both of Mt. Pleasant, Phillip Deats (Kelli) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Gregory Deats of Memphis, Tennessee; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bobbie Holder (L.D.), Margaret Campbell and Wandean Easley, all of Sulphur Springs and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Marvin Wesson and Leland Wesson. Memorials may be made to Cypress Basin Hospice.
