Funeral services for Burt Aaron, age 74, of Cooper and formerly of Hopkins County, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Cross Country Cowboy Church. Rev. Jimmy Prater, REv. Sonny Pennington, and Rev. Byron Houck will officiate.
Interment will follow services at Oaklawn Cemetery, in Cooper, with Larry Aaron, Ernest Aaron, Jeffery Aaron, Neil Aaron, Bruce Aaron, and Eric Aaron serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6:00 t0 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mr. Aaron passed away on Sunday morning, March 23, 2008, at his residence. He was born in Denton County, TX, on July 22, 1933, the son of J.P. and Eva Dudley Aaron. He married Doris Eves, in Forney, on September 19, 1953. She survives.
Mr. Aaron was a rancher and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Other survivors include: five sons, Larry Aaron of Sulphur Springs, Ernest Aaron of Reilly Springs, Jeff Aaron of Cooper, Neil Aaron of Longview, and Bruce Aaron of New Orleans; four daughters, Susie Purcell of Joshua, Teresa Hanson and Christine Morehead, both of Cooper, and Darlene Hammons of Sulphur Springs; three brothers, Joe Aaron of Ennis, James Aaron of Frisco, and David Aaron of Red Oak; seven sisters, Fannie Gidney of McKinney, Tommie Gidney of Farmersville, Beatrice Isaacs of Munster, Emma Hawking of Conroe, Linda Taylor of Roxston, Mildred Smith of Emory, and Kathy McDonald of Graham; and 75 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Cole; a sister, Nettie Watkins; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
