Bobbye Hopkins

Bobbye Hopkins, age 89, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Autumn Wind Assisted Living.

Bobbye was born to Samuel and Lorena (Duke) Dougherty on December 22, 1934 in Whitehouse, Texas. After completing high school and attending some college courses, she went on to become an insurance underwriter assistant for USF&G for many years. She married Earhl Blackmon on March 27, 1997, in Hugo, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her son, Jim Shivers and his wife, Wendy of Winnsboro, Texas; granddaughter, Kara Beth Bayro and her husband, Skip of Waxahachie, Texas; great-grandchildren, Alexander Embry of Waxahachie, Texas, and Isssac Embry of Waxahachie, Texas.

Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by her husband, Earhl Blackmon; sisters, Diane Clayton, Sammie Holthe, and Vickie Gowin; brothers, Rickey Dougherty, and Alford Doughtery.
