A funeral service for Bobby Gene " Red" Richey, age 77 of Denton, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 11:00 a. m., Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Jimmy Henry, Gary Richey and Ray Richey officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery, with Michael Richey, Brandon Richey, Jonathon Richey, Russell Richey, Christopher Richey and Chase Richey serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Bobby Gene "Red" Richey passed away at his residence Friday afternoon, October 25, 2013. He was born in Pine Forest, January 20, 1936, the son of O. B. Richey and Lillian (Crump) Richey. He married Linda Sidebottom in the Sherley Community on October 24, 1972. She preceded him in death in 2009. He was a retired truck driver, having worked for Coca-Cola, Cannon Craft Shutters, Foremost Dairies, Southland Corporation and Morningstar Corporation. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: three sons, Gary Dale Richey and wife Fern of Denton, Alton Ray Richey and wife Kim of Cypress and Charles Eric Richey and wife Kristy of Saltillo; two sisters, Jackie Thompson and husband John of Dallas and Linda Price and husband Bob of Rowlette; brother, Rod Richey and wife Sherry of Konawa, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Benny Dean Richey.
