A funeral service for Bobbie Faye Parris, age 80, of Saltillo will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2013, with Rev. Matthew Neese officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery, with Kevin Hoover, Robert Hoover, Anthony Harris, Casey Parris, Cody Parris, Zachary Parris, David Parris, Tyler Davison, Dustin Robb and Gary Davison serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Bobbie Faye Parris passed away at her residence Tuesday evening, August 6, 2013. She was born in Weaver on June 2, 1933, the daughter of William Elbert Matthews and Ellen Addie (Hokes) Matthews. She married R. L. Parris in Weaver in March of 1950. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was a retired medication aid at Terry Haven Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon and she was a member of Abundant Grace Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara Harris and husband Doug of Mt. Vernon and Susan Weaver of Sulphur Springs; four sons, Richard Parris and wife Patricia of Weaver, Ronnie Parris and wife Sharon of Saltillo, James Parris and wife Sheila of Quitman and Alan Parris and wife Tammy of Saltillo; sister, Mollie White of Saltillo; three brothers, Darrell Matthews of Como, Leo Matthews and Benny Matthews, both of Saltillo; grandchildren, Mistie Davison, Lisa Gessman, Kevin Hoover, Robert Hoover, Anthony Harris, Shannon Ramsey, Amy Perez, Deana Harris, Cody Parris, Zachary Parris, Jennifer Parris, David Parris, Tonya Robb, Shelley Parris, Brittany Parris, Casey Parris, Stephanie Glidewell, Melissa West, Lonnie Allen, Crystal Wren and Odis Wren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, David Parris; sister, Ellen Matthews and brother, Roy Matthews. Memorials may be made to Weaver Cemetery Association and/or Legacy Hospice.
