Billy Shell

Funeral service for Billy Frank Shell, age 87, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Arbala Cemetery with Marvin Jimenez, John Karr, Daniel Jones, Michael Pennington, Megan Lescallett, and Brent McQueen serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Taylor Pennington and Dawson Jace McLaughlin. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M Monday, November 20, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Shell passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab.

Billy Frank Shell was born December 12, 1929 to Mitchell Shell and Emma Reese (Garrett) Shell in Sulphur Springs. He married Vivian Gammill on February 4, 1959 in Greenville, TX; she preceded him in death in 2015. Billy Frank served in the U.S. Army, was Supervisor at Specialty Foods for over 20 years, and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

He is survived by son, Sanford Shell and wife Abby; daughters, Brooke Pennington and Denise Pennington, all of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Ryan Taylor Pennington, Dawson Jace McLaughlin, Dustin Thomas Vaughan, and Emily Ann Vaughan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Roland Shell, and sisters, Martha Ringer and Jane Walker.
