Billy Owens

Graveside service for Billy Owens, age 68, of Cumby, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Cumby Cemetery with Reverend Jim Moore officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the cemetery. Billy passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs.

Billy Owens was born September 16, 1953 in Sulphur Springs to Johnny and Flora Bell (Titsworth) Owens. He married Pattie Childers on July 1, 1995 in Charleston, TX. Billy was a computer programmer and supervisor at L3.

Billy is survived by his wife, Pattie Owens of Cumby; sons, Billy Owens, II and wife, Crystal, of Cumby, Joe Miller of Austin, Jeremy Miller of Cumby, Jonathan Owens of Cooper, and James Owens and wife, Bonnie, of Cooper; grandchildren, Reydin Wyrick, Addey Ann Owens, Lindsay Owens, Brilyn Okeeffe, Matt Owens, Justin Owens; three great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Brown and husband, Tommy, of Sulphur Springs; brother, Glen Owens; and mother-in-law, Matilda Childers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason Lee Owens; sister, Ruth Stewart; and brother, Raymond Owens.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
