A funeral service for Billy Edd Harper, age 73, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Morning Chapel Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 7, 2013, with Rev. Harold Nash officiating. Interment will follow at Sandifer Cemetery, with members of the Morning Chapel Baptist Church Male Chorus serving as pallbearers. Dwight Sims, Dan Sims, Patrick Sims, Robert Cooper, David Cooper, Randy Cooper, Tony Cooper, Patrick Hall, Calvin Hall, Dwayne Hall and Jason Hall will be honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Billy Edd Harper passed away Friday afternoon, March 1, 2013 at Sunny Springs Nursing Home. He was born in the Sandfield Community in Wood County December 12, 1939, the son of Curley Harper and Fannie Mae (Ford) Harper. He was a retired self-employed mechanic and a member of Morning Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Angela Wyvette Harper of Arlington and Edith Annette Hawkins and husband, Rodney, of Irving; stepmother, Geraldine Harper of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Katie Milburn of Richardson and Dorothy Hall of Lancaster and grandchild, Joshua Renard Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Opal Sims, Mirada Williams, Arthur Lean Cooper and Lillian (Ruth) Truitt.
