Billy Ashby

A memorial service for Billy Edwin Ashby, age 74, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home, with B. J. Teer officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Billy Ashby passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Sulphur Springs. He was born in Saltillo, on June 26, 1934, the son of W. D. Ashby and Eunice (Ballard) Ashby. He married Elaine Mann in Sulphur Springs, on July 10, 1959; she survives. Mr. Ashby was retired from Echo Publishing. He was a member of the Methodist faith.
Other survivors include: two sons, Ronald Ashby and wife, Cynthia, of Richardson and Michael Ashby and wife, Tammy, of Keller; brother, Randall Ashby of Bay Town; four sisters, Loretta Martin, Gloria Thomas, Brenda Ashby, all of Sulphur Springs and Mary Settle of Houston; grandchildren, Stephanie Glidewell of Dallas, Brandon Ashby of Mountain Home, Idaho, Jessica Weeks of Plano and Christopher Dollar of Oklahoma and great-grandchildren, Cadence Glidewell and Alianna Glidewell. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Robert Ashby. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Rainbow Bridge Animal Rescue.
