Funeral services for Billie Jean Stevens will be held at Central Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kenneth Rhoades officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Michael Key, Ricky Gentry, Mark Crowley, Robby Ford, Antwone Young, and Joey Baker serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Monday, January 25, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Billie Jean Stevens, age 73, of Sulphur Springs passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. She was born in Taft, California, on April 24, 1936, the daughter of Walter Floyd Shell and Ida Mae (Richardson) Shell. She married Henry Lee Stevens in Florence, Arizona, on April 29, 1951. He preceded her in death in 2006. Mrs. Stevens was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include: son, Nick Stevens and wife, Lisa, of Greenville; daughter, Kay Herron and husband, Max, of Sulphur Springs; sister, Bonnie Hagee of Casa Grande, Arizona; grandchildren, Riane Stevens, Zach Herron, Robby and Melissa Ford, Donnie and Tracy Walding, Carmen and Michael Key; great-grandchildren, Caylee and Cace Conley, Kayden Key, Melanie and Kristopher Ford, Harvey and Oden Walding. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
