A funeral service for Bill Williams, age 79, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at League Street Church of Christ, with Jerry Savage and Bill Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Bavard Hill, Willie Porter, Larry Fite, Rick Williams, Travis Aven, Dr. Hank Hayes, David Bragg, Dale Watkins, Landon Watkins, Newman Bradford, Bill Grant, Cole Middleton and Kevin Wilkes serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Bill Williams passed away Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2013 at Hopkins House. He was born in Pattonville, the son of H. C. and Kathleen Williams. He married Janie Lee Barton in Mobeetie on June 1, 1958; she survives. He was the retired president of Alliance Bank and a member of League Street Church of Christ. He was a member of Kiwanis Club, Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce, the Optimist Club, E.D.C. Board, Paris Chamber of Commerce, Paris City Council, the United Way Committee, the Southwestern School of Banking at
S. M. U. and a lifetime member of Crime Stoppers.
Other survivors include: son, Mike Williams and wife Cheryl of Mansfield; daughter, Lisa Tenberge and husband George, of Sulphur Springs; sister, Lucy Staley and husband Harley of Paris; grandchildren and family members, Alyssa Burgin and Kelly Stonaker, Hunter Stonaker, Pierce and Whitney Williams, Taylor Williams and fiancée Cassandra Blegen, , Jayna and Cole Middleton and Lara Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents.
