Funeral services for Bill Jack "B.J." Hathcox, Jr., of Sulphur Springs, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel.
A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, will follow services at Restlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Justin Hathcox, Sean Murray, Stewart Murray, Scott Murray, Spencer Murray, and Kyle Cates. Honorary pallbearers will be the Calss of 1960, Tom Green, and Joe Worsham.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the funeral home.
Mr. Hathcox passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Mother Frances Hospital, in Tyler. He was born in Sulphur Springs, on February 14, 1942, the son of Bill Jack Hathcox, Sr. and Margie Dale Parkins Hathcox.
Mr. Hathcox was a carpenter and a member of First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include: his mother, Margie Dale Hathcox; one brother, Karen Dale Hathcox of Yantis; two sisters, VaLinda Hathcox, of Yanits, and Symantha Murray and husband Steve of Sherman; five nephews, Justin Hathcox of Yantis, Sean Murray of Allen, Stewart Murray, Scott Murray and Spencer Murray, all of Sherman; two nieces, Amanda Hathcox of Hobbs New Mexico, and Kara Hathcox of Austin; a great-nephew, Gregory Hilsabeck of Austin; and a special friend, Juana Birdwell.
