A funeral service for Betty Sue (Ellison) Venn, age 72, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013, with Brother Nub Brown officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery with Hunter Dixon, Jim Elder, Dillon Whitehurst, Chris Price, Scotty Price and James Ellison serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Cooper, Vance Sparks, Monte Heady, Kenneth Berkley and Justin Sparks. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home
Betty Sue (Ellison) Venn passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 27, 2013 at Sulphur Springs Health & Rehab. She was born in Pickton, the daughter of James Edward Lee and Juanita Ellison. She married Earnest Wayne Venn, Jr. in Sulphur Springs in November, 1985. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Winterfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sue Ellen Sparks and husband Andrew of Winnsboro and Anita Gail Dixon and husband James; son, Bruce Lee Cooper, all of Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Thomas Ellison and Benjamin Ellison and wife, Aleen, all of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Linda Faye Heady and husband Monte of Zavala and Barbara Jean Berkley and husband Kenneth of Perryville; grandchildren, Mandy Elder, Hunter Dixon, James Ellison, Vance Sparks, Justin Sparks and Dylan Cooper and great-grandchildren, Jaylynn Elder, Kaylee Elder, Audrey Elder, Case Ellison and Hollie Sparks. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Lee Ellison.
