Betty Richardson

A funeral service for Betty Richardson, age 70, of Mt. Vernon, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013 with Rev. Troy Hollingsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery, with Tommy Ball, Forest Reynolds, Forest Shoemaker, Eugene Crager, Daniel Fuller and Joe Marshall serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home
Betty Richardson passed away Monday afternoon, September 9, 2013 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. She was born in Lufkin on July 22, 1943, the daughter of Forest Richardson and Addie (Weatherford) Richardson. She was married to Charles Shropshire, Jr.; he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Temple in Mt. Vernon.
Other survivors include: daughter, Delores Reynolds and Jimmy of Lufkin; son, Curtis Shoemaker and wife Danette of Pollok; two sisters, Violet Richardson and Chris Malmquist, both of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Albert Richardson of Shreveport, Louisiana, Clint Richardson and Darrel Richardson, both of Lufkin; grandchildren, Addie Alexander, Rusty Redd and Forest Shoemaker and great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Tucker Alexander, Skyler, Bladin and Barley Redd. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Estelle Hamilton, Mertie Collier and Effie Marshall.
