Ben Walker

Military graveside services for Ben D. Walker, age 80 of Sulphur Springs, will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park with J.L. Rogers officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, August 15, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Mr. Walker passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab. He was born January 30, 1936 in Big Spring, TX the son of Ben Elzy and Alma Marie (Kirby) Walker. He married Mary Ann Collins on December 20, 1952 in Colorado City, TX. She preceded him in death in 2002. Ben served in the United States Army. He was also a mechanic and of the Pentecostal faith.

Mr. Walker is survived by his son, David Walker and wife Sara, and son Roy Dunn; daughters, Cathy Chapman and Pauline Morris; grandchildren Hunter Walker, Haydan Walker, Angela Thomas, Jason Rasco, Desinee Rushing, David Dunn, Christi Cotten, Bonnie Jones, J.L. Rogers, Lori Johnson, Roy Dunn, Jr., Justin Morris; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Walker; and aunt, Teresa Kirby.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Walker; a niece and nephew; a son, Kennith Dunn; and 1 grandchild.
