Amar Ramsey

Funeral services for Amar Sue Ramsey, age 85, of Sulphur Bluff, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2009, with Rev. Michael Moore and Rev. B. J. Teer officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery, with Stephen Smith, John Johnese, Jacob Ramsey, Jason Ramsey, Deshon Ramsey, Eric Ramsey, Matthew Ramsey, Brennan Ramsey and Kevin Mick serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Johnese, Mark Johnese, Dakota Harris and Charles Mick. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Amar Sue Ramsey passed away Saturday evening, October 17, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Sulphur Bluff, on September 18, 1924, the daughter of Dennis L. Davis and Lillian (Bassham) Davis. She married J. A. Ramsey in Sulphur Bluff, on April 26, 1938. He preceded her in death in 2001. Mrs. Ramsey was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: two daughters, Martha Cox of Sulphur Springs and Linda Johnese of Vidalia, Louisiana; five sons, James Ramsey of Quinlan, Bobby Ramsey of Sulphur Springs, Mike Ramsey and William Ramsey, both of Garland and Dennis Ramsey of Sulphur Bluff; two sisters, Billie Joe Sullivan of Dallas and Patsy Lax of Garland; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Bobby Ramsey, Jr. and James Ramsey; great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Ramsey and brother, Henry Davis.
