Alvin Smith

Funeral Services for Alvin W. Smith, age 89, of Springtown, TX, will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Stinson officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Mr. Alvin W. Smith passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 in Azle Manor Nursing Home. He was born August 13, 1926 in Sulphur Springs, the son of Thomas Melton and Mary Lou (Griffith) Smith. He married Norma Walker on December 22 in Sulphur Springs. Alvin was an electrician, working for Bell Helicopter for over 30 years. He was also a member of Central Baptist Church.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife; sons, Gary Smith and wife Jayne, of Springtown, Ricky Smith and wife Lisa, of Keller, and Michael Smith and wife Cindy, of Springtown; grandchildren, Chad Smith, Eric Smith, Staci Grubbs, Angie Powers; great-grandchildren, Cash Smith, Cane Grubbs, Knox Grubbs; brother, Harvey Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

He is preceded in death by nine siblings and his granddaughter, Autumn Smith.
