Funeral services for Alta Louise Douglas of Sulphur Springs will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Murray-Orwosky Chapel with Clyde Woody and Mike Baxter officiating. Interment will follow in the Seymore Cemetery with Tommy Wilkenson, Aaron Wilkenson, Aaron Huddleston, Weston Teer, Paul Garrett, Kevin Baxter, and Steve Smith serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 pm, Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alta Louise Douglas passed away Friday, July 10, 2009 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 7, 1932, in the Bristow, OK , the daughter of Floyd Clifton and Mary Elizabeth Clark Robbins. She married Kenneth Douglas on March 29, 1952, at the Seymore Church of Christ. He survives.
She was a homemaker and former co-owner/ secretary for Ken's Heating and Air Conditioning. Mrs. Douglas was a life long member of the Seymour Church of Christ.
Other survivors include: two sons, Kendall Douglas and wife Debbie of Bullard, Steven Douglas and wife Patty of Grand Prairie; two daughters, Janet Spurgeon and husband, Robert of Yantis, Nancy Tramel and husband Jerry of Sulphur Springs; one brother, Jimmy Robbins of Sulphur Springs; one sister, Dorothy Eaton of Sulphur Springs; seven grandchildren, Amy Mata, Brenda Kimmons, Caleb Baker, Darrell Douglas, Kaitlen Douglas, Rachel Spurgeon, and Rebekah Spurgeon; great-grandchildren, Grant Baker, Alex Mata, Anna Mata, Colin Baker, and Bradley Kimmons.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one great grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Seymore Church of Christ.
