Alfred Chalupa

Funeral services for Alfred Chalupa, age 84, of Sulphur Springs, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2008, in the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Michael Moore will officiate.

Interment will follow services at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 t0 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at the funeral home

Mr. Chalupa passed away on Monday, February 11, 2008, at Sulphur Springs Health & Rehab Center. He was born in Taylor, TX, on November 2, 1923, the son of Jerry and Julia Chalupa. He married Mary Merkord, in Round Rock, TX, on March 13, 1948. She survives.

Mr. Chalupa was a retired pole foreman for TXU. He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the volunteer fire department and resucue.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Bernice Pausewang of Hollan, and Peggy Temples of Arlington, TX; two sons, George Chalupa of Sulphur Springs, and Paul Chalupa of Yantis; a sister, Elise Lacer of Illinois; two brothers, Arnold Chalupa of Taylor and Frank Chalupa of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Kevin Strickland and Josh Pausewang; and great-grandchildren, Justin Strickland, Hayley Strickland, and Tommy Strickland.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Chalupa and a brother, Jerry Chalupa.
