Funeral services for Alan Strain, age 69, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2009, with Rev. Leo Wisniewski officiating. Interment will follow at City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Alan Strain passed away Saturday morning, May 16, 2009, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born in Stanford, Connecticut, on July 1, 1939, the son of Raymond Frisbie and Mildred (Gillespie) Frisbie. Mr. Strain was a retail clothing store manager and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include: two daughters, Marie Ingalls of Dracut Massachusetts and Patricia Strain of Connecticut; three sisters, Marylou Fryer of Sulphur Springs, Rosemarie Walker of Lowell, Massachusetts and Janice Irwin of Como; brother, George Strain of Page, Arizona and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Strain, Michael Strain and Walter Strain. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
