Military Graveside Funeral Services, under the direction of Hopkins County Military Collation for A.J. Campbell, age, 90, of Sulphur Springs will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at North Hopkins Cemetery with Bro. Tommy Hall and Bro. Andy Comer officiating. With Gene Clark, Gerald Heard, Monty Tipps, Brad Millsap, Rusty Schulz and members of the Rebecca Memorial Sunday School Class of Davis Street Baptist Church serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
Visitation will be 6 till 8 pm, Monday, May 12, 2014 at Murray- Orwosky Funeral Home.
A.J. Campbell passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Peerless on December 17, 1923 the son of Richard and Willie Vick Campbell. He married Era Mell Anderson on June 9, 1945 in Sulphur Springs. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked for many years for Pratt Packing Company and the retired from the Texas Department of Transportation. He was a lifetime member of Davis Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Era Mell Campbell of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Judy Temples of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Larry J. Temples, Lana Schulz, and Lisa Millsap; great grandchildren, Lacey Bloom, Colby Temples, Harlee Schulz, Hanna Schulz, Hattie Schulz, Gavin Millsap, Maddie Millsap, Mayer Millsap and Gunner Millsap; great-great grandchild, Landry Bloom.
He was preceded in death by parents, son-in-law, Mike Temples, sisters, Cecil McDonald, Ellen Fouse and Mary Campbell.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
