A.G. Sandifeer

Funeral service for A.G Sandifeer, age 81, of Dike, Texas, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Shorty Bishop and Casey Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Connor Cemetery with Chad Jones, Chad Brazell, Clint Payne, Michael Hale, Kevin Johnson and Andy Endsley serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Pat Potts, Don Phillips, Gary Almond, Ron Gabriel, Jack Towers, Allen Nelson, and Brandon Sides. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Sandifeer passed away in his home on November 19, 2023.

Arthur George “A.G.” was born on May 6, 1942, in Dike, Texas to L.T. and Juanita (Duncan) Sandifeer.  He married Nancy Lynn Owens in Grand Prairie on February 29, 1980.  A.G. was an Electrical Engineer for TU Electric for close to 30 years and worked for J&L Utilities for 20 years.  In the mid 1980's he was one of the founders of Dike Volunteer Fire Dept, and had been involved ever since, maintaining the distinct honor of Chief.  A.G. also served on the Board of Directors for Legacy Ag Credit for 15 years and President of Connor Cemetery.  A.G. was a pillar amongst the community, kind-hearted, and a joy to all who knew him.  People defined him as “a tremendous influencer and friend in our community.  His dedication to the Hopkins County Volunteer Firefighters will always be remembered for his contributions, duty, and service.”  He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community. 

He is survived by his children, T.G. Sandifeer of Dike, Rene Chapa and husband, Pedro of Grand Prairie, Rhonda Sandifeer Anderson of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Ryan Cortez, Angela Spencer, Aeva Grace Sandifeer; nephew, Clint Owens and wife, Jen and daughter, Hayley; niece, Brittany Owens; numerous cousins; brother-in-law, Rick Owens and wife, Michelle.

A.G. was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nancy and his brother, Ricky Joe Sandifeer.
