Susie Buchanan

Graveside service for Susie Buchanan, age 94, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Buddy Wiggins officiating.  There will be no formal visitation.  Mrs. Buchanan passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at Villa Fontana Memory Care in San Jose, CA.

Susie was born on February 14, 1926 in Sulphur Springs to Ed and Una (Cain) Farmer.  She married John Louis (JL) Buchanan, Jr. in Sulphur Springs on May 28, 1944. Susie worked as an accountant for a brick manufacturer for many years.  She was a member of First Christian Church, Sulphur Springs.

She is survived by her sons John Buchanan and wife, Patty of Reno, NV, Louis Buchanan of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Matthew Buchanan, Andrew Buchanan, Allison Pruitt and husband, Jarvis, Madison Hernandez and husband, Alan; great grandchild, Jarvis Lee Pruitt, Jr.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Lois Lancaster, Eddie Black and May Wilkinson.

Although Susie lived in California for the past 14 years, her heart was always in Sulphur Springs, TX and she will rest peacefully at home.
